Sloppy weather arrives in Michigan

Saturday felt more like spring than a late December day.

MARQUETTE -- After days of cold and snow, Michigan saw rain, warming temperatures, and thick fog.

In Marquette, travelers got a break from snow covered roads, but had to deal with slush and a few icy patches.

The main roads in the Marquette area were mostly wet, but side streets still remained slushy.

The drop in temperatures overnight could cause any remaining slush to freeze, similar to what occurred Friday night.

"Last night it got a little slippery," says Joel Herman of South Haven, MN.  "I had a couple of friends visiting and slipped right down the old driveway.  It was funny, but other than that, driving last night (Friday) and today (Saturday) has been great."

However, the brief warm up has caused many areas across the Midwest and lower Michigan to be under flood warnings due to melting snow and heavy rainfall.
