L'ANSE -- 10:00 a.m.  -  November 12, 2008  -  Houghton Bureau

The dedication of a new power plant in L'Anse this afternoon promises greener energy for the Copper Country.  The company has made several upgrades in recent months which will help reduce landfill waste and provide green energy and steam. 

I'll be at the dedication and take a site tour of the plant.  I'll talk with plant administrators on how the changes will benefit the community.

2:45 p.m. - November 12, 2008 - L'Anse

Over 100 community members and construction workers attended the dedication of the new L'Anse Warden Electric Power Company. The plant runs on six types of biomass. CEO Mark Kristoff says he's excited to create jobs in L'Anse. Watch the TV6 Early News for a tour of the plant and hear more from administrators.
