MARQUETTE -- Monday's snowfall has some people already thinking about their favorite winter sports.

Getting out on the slopes may still be a few weeks away, but if you're looking to update your ski equipment, you're in luck.

The Marquette Mountain Race Team's Ski and Snowboard Swap is this Saturday.

High quality skis, snowboards, boots and bindings are available at Marquette Mountain's chalet from 10 to 3 with a special early bird sale starting at 9 am.

People looking to sell their used equipment can drop it off on Friday from 12 to 6.

The Marquette Mountain Ski Team gets an 18% commission from each sale to help fund their program.

"It pays the coaches to teach the kids. It pays for our racing equipment, timing equipment, things like that," said Marquette Mountain Race Team President Jill Churchill.

The team usually raises between eight and nine-thousand dollars.
