ESCANABA -- There's a new hot dog stand in Escanaba, and the two business partners are hoping their weenies are the top dog with customers.
It's called Hot Dogs Ala Carte, and it's a mobile food concession cart. The stand offers beef hot dogs, brats, and Polish sausages, as well has hot chocolate and coffee.
The owners are Chicago natives with ties to Escanaba, and they're hoping to bring back the nostalgia of eating from old-time street vendors.
"The service is great," said Dan Trumble. "We're very careful with food preparation. So you're always going to get a great quality product at a great price point. The location is great because of the exposure on M-35 Lincoln Road. There's lots of traffic and lots of exposure. And again, the community's been great."
The owners said business has been steady since the hot dog stand opened.
