ESCANABA -- It's National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month, and on Saturday at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba, there will be a special memorial candlelight service. It's a way to honor people who are still living with the disease.
The Bishop Noa Home has helped prepare this annual program for the last three years.
Randy Daigneault is the supervisor of Perspectives Adult Day Care Center. He says he hopes people attend, even if it's just to support these affected families and individuals.
"We want to remember those individuals who have passed away this past year from that disease, but Alzheimer's disease affects everyone a little bit differently," said Daigneault.
The event started at 1 p.m. It's sponsored by Perspectives Adult Day Care Center and Bishop Noa Home.
