MARQUETTE -- To help make the season brighter for others, the Salvation Army of Marquette is asking for your help this season.

They're kicking off their Red Kettle campaign this Friday. That means they need volunteers to ring their bells and ask for donations during the holidays. Volunteers are asked to serve at least two hours during each shift.

All the money donated goes to feeding the hungry and stocking their pantry. They're hoping to raise $100,000 in donations.

"Last year we raised $80,000, so, you know, we're asking the community to make a significant stretch this year to help us make our goal," said Capt. Joel Arthur of the Marquette Salvation Army.

Bell ringers will be stationed outside of 12 different locations in Marquette. To find out how you can help, you can visit the Marquette Salvation Army website.
