CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP -- The weather may be getting chilly, but you have a chance to bring some spring into your home with roses.

Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan is selling sets of a dozen roses for $25. The money from the sales will go to a number of new projects at the Teaching Family Homes facility in Chocolay Township.

One of the projects they're working on is a new skill center as well as a scientific trail walk.

"The date in November is kind of tied into the hunting season. We feel this is a great opportunity for all those men hunters who are going to leave their wives behind to leave them with some roses, that way they can go off and be guilt-free as they hunt in their blinds, and meanwhile, the wives are able to receive a dozen roses," said Rich Rossway of Teaching Family Homes.

The roses will be available for pickup at Messiah Lutheran Church in Marquette on November 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and November 10 from 10 a.m. to noon.

To reserve your dozen roses, you can call Teaching Family Homes at (906) 249-5437.
