Plea deal for women accused of stabbing man

MARQUETTE -- The Ishpeming women accused of stabbing a Marquette man reached a deal in Marquette Circuit Court Friday.

Nineteen-year-old Taylor Mitchell and Danny Weymouth were involved in the June 18 stabbing of Zachary Skinner.

Earlier this year, Weymouth took a reduced sentence in exchange for his testimony against Mitchell.

In exchange for Mitchell's guilty plea on the charge of felonious assault with a dangerous weapon. The other charges were dropped. Those charges included delivering a controlled substance and two counts of felonious assault.

Prosecutor Matt Wiese also recommended a sentence that avoided prison time.

Her sentencing date has been set for Friday, December 7.
