HOUGHTON -- The dorm hallways of Michigan Tech turned a little frightening Saturday night. Students transformed the halls into a chilling Halloween scene for all to see.

Students are decorating the walls, the rooms, and setting up lights to make an eerie Halloween tour for the public.

The Safehouse tour provides scary and non-scary tours through the dorm hallways for families to bring their kids to trick or treat.

The Halloween tours have been going on for 24 years, and officials say it's a way to give back to the community.

"It's a great community service event for the Houghton and Hancock area, giving back to the community, being able to share the fun of Halloween with the kids and their parents that come through," said Brad Dupay, Residence Hall Director.
