MARQUETTE -- The man accused of pulling out a machete during a case of road rage is heading to circuit court.

Sixty-six-year-old Jeffrey Rowal Anderson of Northland appeared in Marquette District Court Friday morning for a preliminary hearing. He was bound over to Marquette County Circuit Court.

The incident happened last Wednesday morning in the parking lot of the Fair Avenue Medical Center in Marquette. Police say Anderson claimed he had been cut off by another vehicle. He followed the vehicle into the parking lot.

Police say Anderson got out of his car and waived a machete while screaming at the other driver who stayed in his vehicle. Anderson is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and malicious destruction of property.

His arraignment in circuit court has not been scheduled.
