ISHPEMING -- The Ishpeming Salvation Army is holding its annual Harvest Festival Wednesday. The event centers around an auction that's used to raise money to restock the food pantry. It starts Wednesday with a chili feed at 5 p.m. This time of year is crucial to restock the food pantry with winter right around the corner.
"The auction starts at 6 o'clock on Wednesday night, and we have quite a few different items, and people should come down and help out the community. It's part of giving back. We all take something from the community, and every once in a while, you have to give some back," said Harvest Festival Auctioneer Paul Bonetti.
Items have been donated from local businesses and organizations for the auction. Some of the items in the auction include gift baskets and some sports memorabilia. There's even a signed Green Bay Packers football.
