NEGAUNEE -- The Michigan State Police Negaunee Post opened its doors for a tour on Friday.
The Negaunee post gave a tour to people from the Northern Center for Lifelong Learning.
Guests toured the local and regional dispatch center and then moved on to learning about emergency management and the post's community service. The tour also included a look at the tactical unit, sheriff's equipment, and Marquette County search and rescue unit and on how they all work together.
The NCLL offers informal educational and social activities to its members through Northern Michigan University. Around 50 members arrived for the two-hour tour.
"It's great to see the amount of turnout we had today for the tour," said post commander Lt. Robert Pernaski. "It speaks well to the cooperative effort this post has always enjoyed with the community."
The Negaunee post offers scheduled tours to any organization as long as it is scheduled in advance.
