ESCANABA -- The controversial ice track in Escanaba Township recently landed back in court during a bench trial in Escanaba.  Four witnesses took the stand before Judge Stephen Davis.

The issue at stake is if the construction of the track goes against the township's zoning requirements.  Another key complaint from the township is that a site plan and zoning compliance permit application were never turned in.

Property owner Robert Barron testified that $30,000 was invested in the project.  The ice races are sponsored by the Wells Lions Club.  Bikes, mini-quads, four-wheelers and sprint cars are raced on the track.

Now the issue will be back in circuit court on November 9 for a ruling on the lawsuit.
