HOUGHTON -- FinnFest is June 19, 2013 and planning for the big event is underway in the Copper Country.

Friday, people stopped by Michigan Tech Credit Union to buy some freshly baked goods and treats. All of the donations from the bake sale will help fund the event.

"Not only will the events bring the funds that we need to put on FinnFest 2013, we are projecting approximately 8 to 10,000 people will be here in the Copper Country during that week. That is a huge opportunity for businesses and everyone here. The economic impact will be amazing," said Susie Landers, managing director of FinnFest.

If you'd like to show your support, a pannukakkau breakfast will be held this Sunday starting at 9 a.m. at the Sheldon Grill in Houghton. Tickets are available at the door for $10 adults and $5 for children ages 6-10.
