ESCANABA -- The morning edition host of Eagle 107.3 in Escanaba is encouraging Yoopers to try their hand at rewriting his screenplay, Leon, which is in development at Amazon Studios.

Kevin Scannell wrote Leon, which is a comedy and a new take on It's a Wonderful Life. He hopes someone from the U.P. will try their hand at this open writing assignment that may become a movie someday. There are 25 days left for this paid assignment, which comes with a nice rewrite fee of $33,000, and you don't have to have any writing experience.

"That would be just an awesome thing to be able to be sitting down next to some other Yooper who rewrote my script which now would be on the big screen," said Scannell. "That would be just fantastic."

You can find out how to get started on this open writing assignment by visiting www.studios.amazon.com.
