HOUGHTON COUNTY -- With the election just two months away, the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce decided to host a candidate forum.

Early Thursday morning, the League of Women Voters in the Copper Country fired off questions to candidates running for the Houghton County seats. The chamber gave each candidate one minute for opening remarks, one minute to answer each question, and one minute for closing remarks.

"It's tradition with the chamber," said board member Lisa Dunnebacke. "Every time there's an election year, we try to get candidates to come and speak to our members. We're hoping that a lot of the candidates will address, specifically, issues to the business community."

Those in attendance included candidates from the Board of Commissioner, Houghton County Prosecutor, Treasurer, and Sheriff.
