Friday morning stabbing sends one to hospital

CALUMET -- Authorities are reporting a stabbing that occurred in the Jukuri Apartments located in the Village of Calumet early Friday morning.

Police are investigating the stabbing which was originally reported as a robbery that happened at 7:30 a.m. and sent one victim to the hospital. A man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed with a blunt object.

The Calumet Police Department is leading the investigation and says the stabbing was an isolated incident.

Officials are still investigating and they are considering a male suspect in the case.

Calumet Police were assistance from the Michigan State Police and the Houghton County Sheriff's Department.
