MUNISING -- The Alger County Animal Shelter is in the running for a potentially huge donation.

Chase Giving is offering to donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to various charities across the U.S., including the Alger County Animal Shelter. The donation prizes vary from $10,000 to $250,000, but in order to win, people must vote for the charity online.

According to the animal shelter, an anonymous person submitted the group to Chase's competition, and it sure took them by surprise.

"Literally it's like, oh my goodness! This is a big deal because Chase Giving gives out five million dollars in money to different charities throughout the year," said ACAS Manager Kathy Glish.

The competition began on Thursday and will last through September 19. You can find a link to their Facebook page here and you can go to vote for ACAS by clicking here.
