After being closed for five days, the YMCA of Marquette County has reopened with some new additions. The shutdown is part of an annual effort to paint, clean and improve the facilities. Four new treadmills, new games in the children's area, and a new lift for disabled swimmers are among the changes.

"It's really just a time that we do things that we can't do when members are in the facility, so it's nice to just close down for five or six days and be able to just make the facility spotless," said Jenna Zdunek, the Health and Wellness Leader. "And we add some new things, and we're able to do a deep clean and lots of new painting, add some shine."

The changes come as the YMCA prepares for its fall program kickoffs on September 9. The YMCA is also getting set for its second phase of diabetes outreach aimed at helping at risk individuals combat pre-diabetes.
