HUMBOLDT TOWNSHIP -- A two vehicle crash in Humboldt Township sent three people to the hospital on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened just after 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of US-41 and M-95. Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post responded to the crash.

Police say 52-year-old Gary Smith from Illinois was driving a white Jeep west on US-41. He attempted to make a left turn onto M-95 across traffic when he was struck by an eastbound Chevy van driven by 51-year-old Wayne Prochaska from Lake Orion. Smith and two passengers were taken to Marquette General Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Smith was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
