Delay in sexual assault trial

MARQUETTE -- A preliminary hearing has been delayed for a Marquette man accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy.

Axel Gabriel Acevedo, 28, appeared in Marquette County District Court on Friday, where the defense and prosecution agreed to adjourn the hearing.

Acevedo was arrested Tuesday and charged with first and second degree criminal sexual conduct, and accosting a child for immoral purposes. A preliminary hearing is expected in the next two weeks.
