MARQUETTE -- The Peter White Public Library wasn't a quiet place to get work done Tuesday night; instead, blues music blared from the library's steps.
It marked the first "Bluesday Tuesday." It's what the Marquette Area Blues Society is calling the kick-off of blues week.
The library's front lawn was crowded with people, all there to hear the Flat Broke Blues Band. It's all to get people in the mood for this weekend's blues festival that kicks off on Saturday at Mattson Lower Harbor Park.
"This is going to be a fantastic kick off for the weekend. It gets everybody excited about Blues Fest, lets them know what's going on, that blues is music that just about everybody can find something they like, and really gets the town involved in everything that's happening this week," said Blues Fest Director, Terry Klavitter.
The Blues Society is still looking for volunteers for this weekend's festival. To find out how to help out, click here.
