HANCOCK -- It's packed as the 61st Annual Houghton County Fair wraps up.
New this year? Exotic animals. With thirteen animals, well known Grant Kemmerer's Wild World of Animals show was very popular.
"There will be children that come back to every show. As I pose questions to the audience, these kids will know the answers and spout them out which lets the cat out of the bag as far as answering questions, but realizing they are paying attention. They are learning from it, so that's what's important," said Kemmerer.
The Barnyard Express show was also a hit for little kids, but the real action was at the arena field with the Annual Demolition Derby. It was Eric Baccus's first time participating.
"You see a lot of cars coming at you very fast, try to avoid the big hits, just try to keep your car intact as much as possible," said Baccus.
Tons of people filled the hillside to watch these cars crush each other.
Daryl Usitalo won the third heat round.
"Keep your head up and watch your hits. Make sure you don't get hit on your driver side door. It's all a bunch of guys having fun," said Usitalo.
Derby heats lasted all afternoon.
Of course, what's a fair without rides, games, and food. There were seventeen rides and they had long lines.
Officials say this year was really successful although they had a slow start because of a lightning storm on Thursday. However, the rest of the weekend was great and tons of people came out.
