ITALIAN FEST -- Crews are getting set up for the sixth annual Italian Fest in Iron Mountain.

The event takes place in downtown Iron Mountain on Iron Mountain Street between East A and East Hughitt. The festival is a day long celebration of Italy in Iron Mountain, with food, music, and activities.

Grape stomping, a pizza dough tossing competition, and Italian Idol are some of the favored events you can expect to see. You can also witness the skills of a world renowned trick shot billiards master

"It's a great heritage celebration that lets us reflect on the wonderful Italian heritage we have here in Iron Mountain stemming back from our mining days," said Main Street Manager Jonathan Ringel.

The event is sponsored by the Iron Mountain Downtown Authority. Officials hope it will help revitalize the central business district and preserve quality of life in the area, making it better for future generations.
