CRYSTAL FALLS -- Friday was the 8th Annual Firemen's Benefit at the Ravens Nest in Crystal Falls. The owner of the Ravens Nest, Larry Bartolini, said he was looking for a way to give back to the community's brave volunteer fire department.
Last year Larry raised a little over $1,200, enough to purchase gear for one firefighter.
"There's always budget issues with any business, any organization, so I figure any little bit of money I could give to them to outfit one man, that's great," said Bartolini.
Larry and his dad bought 10 cases of chicken, 10 cases of ribs, 20 dozen rolls and 80 pounds of potato salad for Friday's fundraiser.
According to Bartolini, they were able to raise $1,674 this year.
