MARQUETTE -- Friday night, the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Expo gave riders a chance to make final preparations for Saturday's race.

The expo is where the riders register and get their numbers and packets for race day. More than twenty vendors were also on hand to provide the last minute items a racer may need.  In addition to the vendors, a spaghetti dinner was provided by the Negaunee Lions.

"It's kind of a festive atmosphere getting ready for the race; the racers like to see the latest technology that comes out, so we always have people who build bikes here. People really like it...kind of brings everything together, the whole race.  Then they wake up tomorrow morning, they're energized and they have a good day," said Race Director, Scott Tuma.

The expo went from 5 to 9 p.m.  This year more than 2,200 riders will compete.  That's the largest field in the race's 13 year history.
