MARQUETTE -- Staff and visitors at the Upper Peninsula Children's Museum brought the outdoors indoors Thursday. It was part of the second Thursday creative series at the children's museum and it focused on fishing.
Kids got to practice fly casting, decorate their handmade fish, and even got to save the whales. The Marquette Maritime Museum had a hand in the event. They're celebrating Maritime Month.
"They usually pick a maritime theme to do for Maritime Month and just to support them. Myself and the staff like to come out get our hands dirty, play with some kids, do some coloring, and glue some fish together," said Carrie Fries, Director of the Marquette Maritime Museum. "So we enjoy coming out and supporting them."
Papa Crow provided live music for the event. The Marquette Maritime Museum will be hosting more events throughout the month. For more information on the children's museum, click here.
