MARQUETTE -- Moms in Marquette and thousands worldwide simultaneously bonded with their babies on Saturday morning.
It's all an attempt to get the most moms in the world breastfeeding their babies at the same time. The Marquette County Health Department organized the event. On Saturday at exactly 10:30 a.m., about a dozen moms at the U.P. Children's Museum were successful.
"Breastfeeding is such a normal, natural thing. Babies are born to be breastfed," said Vicki Wood, a breastfeeding counselor. "So we're just here to just get it out into the community. It has so many health benefits and so many benefits for society as well, not to mention the bond between mom and baby."
This is the second year for the event here in the U.P.
