CENTRAL, KEWEENAW COUNTY -- There was a big reunion in Keweenaw County at Central Mine Methodist Church in Central...it's the 107th annual mine reunion.

More than 100 parishioners filled the little church on Sunday morning. Most of these people had ancestors that came to Central and worked in the mining industry. After mining ended, everyone left and Central became a ghost town.

"I think it's kind of neat to be sitting in a church with other people where my great grandmother attended church. Her home was less than 100 feet from where we are standing," said Gary Bryant, a member of the church.

Between the two services, more than 300 people showed up on Sunday. Currently no one lives in the town of Central, but the visitor's center is restoring the houses still there.
