GWINN -- Organizers of the annual Gwinn Fun Daze say it takes a whole community to put on the successful event.

Hundreds visited Nordeen Park on Saturday for a parade in the morning, food, and music from the Negaunee City Band. Most of the vendors at the park were from Gwinn area schools, churches, and booster clubs.

"This is a major fundraising day for every group and organization in the Gwinn area, and the money just goes right back into the community," said Jeanette Maki, Director of the Gwinn/Sawyer Chamber of Commerce. "With all the financial cuts that have been occurring in the school's funding, it's important that we support these groups and organizations."

Winners of floats were also chosen throughout the day.
