MARQUETTE -- The Marquette Downtown Development Authority is bringing in parking consultants to evaluate parking in the city.
Nelson/Nygaard is based out of New York City and will be in town Wednesday. They plan to determine if downtown parking is adequate now and for the future.
"They're going to look at several different things; first, they're going to do some focus groups with some business owners and some property owners, They'll also go out and actually look at traffic patterns and parking patterns," said Mona Lang, Executive Director of the Downtown Development Authority. "The large purpose is to develop an overall strategic plan for parking planning and parking management."
As part of the project, the Downtown Development Authority is also asking for help from residents of Marquette. They've created a survey about parking in downtown Marquette, and if you click here, you can take that survey.
