LITTLE LAKE -- It has been an inspiring week for several young string players from across the Upper Peninsula.
Since Tuesday, thirteen musicians have been hard at work at the Superior String Alliance Intermediate Camp, taking place at the Page Center in Little Lake.
The kids, aged eight to twelve, work in one-on-one, small group, and large ensemble settings under the guidance of local college students and young professional musicians. They have expanded their abilities on violin, viola, cello, and bass.
"We've been working on all sorts of songs that have been testing everyone's skills and everything, so it's a really great opportunity for me to be out here learning all this stuff," said camper Aidan Claffey from Marquette.
The young musicians are playing everything from Mozart to Smash Mouth. They'll present their final concert Friday night at 7 p.m. at the camp, located right off M-35 in Little Lake.
