IRON MOUNTAIN -- The possible neglect case involving over 60 rescued horses, dogs, and cats is still pending.  The prosecutor's office is waiting to receive the remaining reports from the Dickinson County Sheriff's office and decide whether or not charges will be filed.

Diane Luczak of the Almost Home Animal Shelter says the dogs and cats that were rescued were dirty and matted but in decent health.

"I do not think, though, that it should go totally unpunished, but again, I also think that they need to be monitored...that this doesn't happen again," said Luczak.

Of the 19 dogs and 15 cats that were rescued, all but one dog and two cats have been adopted.

As for the 30 horses, they have gained a significant amount of weight and, so far, half have found new homes.
