GLADSTONE -- The Gladstone School Board voted to add three sports to the school. They are baseball, swimming, and bowling.

The meeting was held at Jones Elementary School Monday evening and was packed with officials and parents.  The resolution that was adopted will make all three sports self-funded.

"All three of these sports teach many of the same things.  That individual excellence and doing your best as an individual and participating in a team builds towards a productive effort," said Board member, Steven O'Driscoll.

School officials said the sports will be completely under the control of the Gladstone School District, but will not take any funding from the existing budget.
