MARQUETTE -- Cliffs Natural Resources celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Upper Harbor Ore Dock in style, and officials from Cliffs lowered the maritime flag onboard the Niagara and presented it to the Marquette Maritime Museum.

Nearly 1,000 people had the chance to tour the ship that's been docked at the Mattson Lower Harbor Park since Friday.

"This is huge, not just for Cliffs itself and its employees, but also for the community. The ore dock and the shipping industry...very important to Marquette County, and we're just really proud to be a part of that. We had a beautiful weekend; the weather cooperated the entire time and everyone seemed to have a very good time," said Jennifer Huetter of Cliffs.

The celebration wrapped up with the Niagara setting sail around 9:30 Sunday evening.
