NEGAUNEE TWP. -- Spa day isn't just for adults, it's for your pets, too!

The third annual Wash 'N Wag day at the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter had dozens of furry friends groomed and cleaned. Pets had a good wash, nail trimming and grooming, but the owners also enjoyed a cookout.

UPAWS reminds everyone that keeping your pets clean is important.

"Hygiene is excellent for your pets, especially in the summer," said Ann Brownwell, Vice President of the Board of Community Relations. "Getting them a good bath, getting their nails trimmed, it's very important to keep your dogs and cats nails trimmed, but this is all about doggies today, and getting them all clean and fresh is very important."

Proceeds from the event support animals at the shelter.
