BIG BAY -- Residents in Big Bay have found a way to raise funds for a good cause while showcasing some of U.P.'s natural beauties.

The annual Big Bay Garden Tour featured five gardens across Big Bay and Eagles Nest Road. The self-guided tour cost just eight dollars for the ticket which showed the map of the gardens. Organizers say they're unique in the type of plants they grow.

"A lot of plants that are deer resistant. There are a lot of natural settings as a backdrop for the gardens, a lot of woodland, a lot of lake front property and so on, and then just the beauty of Big Bay and the woods of the U.P.," said Marcia Gonsteab, a coordinator of the tour.

Proceeds of the event benefit Bay Cliff Health Camp.
