Two people in court on numerous burglary charges

MANISTIQUE -- Two Manistique residents were in court on Wednesday on multiple charges relating to breaking and entering, according to the Manistique Department of Public Safety.

Twenty-four-year-old Michael Alan Olsen and 22-year-old Samantha Jo Jenerou were arraigned in court on Wednesday, facing charges related to the breaking and entering of three homes in Schoolcraft County and three additional homes in the City of Manistique.

Olsen was charged with 13 counts of burglary or larceny-related crimes, including one count of first degree home invasion, which is punishable by 20 years in prison.  He is also charged with additional felonies, which includes four counts of second degree home invasion, one count of attempted second degree home invasion, one count of breaking and entering, one count of conspiracy to commit second degree home invasion, and one count of possession of burglary tools.  Olsen also faces three counts of larceny, more than $1,000 and less than $20,000, and one count of illegal possession of a financial transaction device.

Jenerou was charged with 14 counts of burglary or larceny related crimes. She also faces a charge of first degree home invasion. Jenerou faces other felony charges, including four counts of second degree home invasion, one count of attempted second degree home invasion, one count of breaking and entering, one count of conspiracy to commit second degree home invasion, and one count of possession of burglary tools. Jenerou also faces three counts of larceny, more than $1,000 and less than $20,000, one count of stealing a financial transaction device, and one count of illegal possession of a financial transaction device.

Olsen and Jenerou are being held in the Schoolcraft County Jail on a court set bond of $25,000 each. They are scheduled to appear in court again on July 18 for their preliminary hearing at 10 a.m.
