GRAND MARAIS, MI -- Authorities are reporting the possible drowning of an elderly woman in Lake Superior near Grand Marais, Michigan.
The body of an 89-year-old Grand Marais resident, idendified as Rose Mary Marshall, was found off the Grand Marais pier after police received a call around 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday in regards to an object in the water.
The Michigan State Police and Alger County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday to determine the cause of Marshall's death.
