MARQUETTE -- The Marquette County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday night to discuss a variety of topics.

In their session, the board heard a request from the Soil Conservation District for $25,000 reimbursement. The board also passed two resolutions regarding shortening a runway at Sawyer International Airport.

A moment of frustration came when Commissioner Mike Quayle voiced his disappointment over the lack of public notification regarding the Brownfield Authority.

"We'd like to have people from all over Marquette county in all these commissions, and we want to make sure that they know and they're notified of these positions being available," said Board Chair, Deborah Pellow, as she addressed that issue.

The county clerk has been tasked with notifying the community earlier for positions as they become available.  The board will also consider paying for advertisements for certain positions.
