NEGAUNEE -- The Michigan Iron Industry Museum organized an historical bike tour through Negaunee Saturday morning.

The bike tour followed Heritage Trail all the way to the Cliffs Shaft Mine Iron Museum and back, while making several stops along the way.

More than 20 bikers of all ages arrived at the Iron Ore Heritage trail head to participate.

Registration was $10 a person, and proceeds benefit the museum.

This was not a race, but rather a leisurely and educational bike ride.

"The weather is great," said Troy Henderson, an Historian and Tour Guide. "I was getting a little nervous yesterday with the rain, but i think it's going to be a great day, and i've met some of the people who are going to participate in this and it should be a very fun event."

This was the first time the Michigan Iron Industry Museum has held a historic bike tour, but they hope to extend the tour and continue it next year.
