IRON RIVER -- Iron River residents will be facing detours and road closures until October during a four-phase reconstruction of everything from sewers to sidewalks.

Oberstar from Marquette is overseeing the project and is on phase two of the job. The current closed section from Ninth Avenue to Fourth Avenue or M-189 is expected to be completed at the end of July.

"It's a total reconstruction, all new sewer water, storm sewer, curb and gutter, sidewalks...pretty much a total reconstruction," said Project Manager Robbie Dobson.

Oberstar will begin phase three on M-189 from US-2 to Genesee, bringing additional street closures.
