MARQUETTE COUNTY (AP) -- UPDATE Thursday July,5 5:53 a.m.
The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Alger County in north central Upper Michigan, west central Schoolcraft County in east central Upper Michigan until 6:15 am edt.
At 5:30 am edt...national weather service doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located 6 miles southeast of Au Train or 7 miles southwest of Munising and moving southeast at 35 mph.
Locations impacted include, Munising, Shingleton, Steuben, Wetmore, Fish Lake and Van Meer.
People living in those areas are warned to take precautionary actions. Severe thunderstorms produce damaging wind in excess of 60 miles per hour, destructive hail, deadly lightning and very heavy rain.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. heavy rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water covers the road.

At 4:43 a.m. edt The National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.
These storms were located along a line extending from Marquette to Negaunee to Champion and moving southeast at 25 miles per hour.
The locations that may be impacted include Negaunee, Marquette, Harvey, K.I. Sawyer, National Mine, Palmer, Beaver Grove, Shot Point, Sands, Skandia and Silver Lake.
