MUNISING -- People packed Bay Shore Park early in the morning for the Fourth of July festivities. There was over a dozen local vendors and some were still getting ready.
Diane Howard owner of Unique Jewels says it's a great day for local vendors.
"I mean you get so many people you got the cruise boats. This is also been my best day of the year. It's just a variety of people having a good time, with good weather today," said Howard.
While everyone waited on the parade others relaxed, stopping at booths, and grabbing a bite to eat. When the parade ended all those people headed back to the park for more summer time fun.
Mayor Rod Desjardins says tons of people are coming from out of town.
"You add 75 hundred people to a town of 25 hundred people, everybody's here for a week, everybody's here to have a good time. You can't rent a motel, a campsite, the store shelves are empty. I mean it's just a huge economic plus for the community," said Desjardins.
With shopping, great food and entertaining games, there's something for everyone.
John Vandeville from Rapid River came out with his family to just see what Munising has to offer.
"It's just great to see everybody get out, the beautiful weather. Everybody is just enjoying a great time with the water, it's just awesome here," said Vandeville.
