TWIN LAKES -- Twin Lakes celebrated the Fourth of July with their annual boat parade.

This is the 14th year of the event. It started off with just five boats, and every year it continues to grow.

The boats are usually decorated in a patriotic theme with red, white, and blue lights.

As the boats sail across the water, spectators sit on the shore and cheer for their favorite boat.

“The kids really love it, and it’s just really cool to see the boats all decorated up and what themes they’re going to have,” said Sarah Oger.

"We’re from Detroit, Michigan - just on the outskirts of it - and we’ve come up to the U.P. for our whole lives. Our parents are from here, and we’ve been staying at Twin Lakes for many years and enjoying the boat show,” said Holly Borlace.

Three of the original boats are still participating in the parade, and every year people get a chance to vote for their favorite.
