MARQUETTE -- The Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee is getting set for its fifth annual Garden Conference.

This year's keynote address will be Elements of Landscaping and will have valuable information for every type of gardener.  There will be a total of nine seminars along with a host of vendors to supply all you need to get your green thumb going.

"Gardening is fun. Gardeners are happy people, and we like to provide some educational opportunities for people to learn how to grow things in the Upper Peninsula. Knowing how to use those products with plants makes a big difference in having a happy gardener and a happy garden," said coordinator Judy Place.

The event will take place this Saturday at the University Center on Northern Michigan University's campus.  Pre-registration is underway, and the cost is $50 for early entries.
