ISHPEMING -- Are you looking for deals at local stores? Well the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce is revamping their texting club.
You can win prizes to local businesses by texting GINCC to 313131. You'll receive a return text with the deal of the month. The goal is to create more awareness of local businesses in the community.
"They never realized, oh look at that cute art gallery...I'm going to start going there now. So the more people are aware of what's in their community, the more likely they are to shop there," said GINCC Executive Director, Elizabeth Peterson.
Peterson also wants people to know it's not a scam. This month you can enter to win a gift certificate to Wilderness Sports.
