MARQUETTE -- June is Dandelion Cottage Month, and the Marquette Regional History Center is getting ready to take residents on a tour of the historic building Wednesday.

The celebration is based around the book The Dandelion Cottage by Carroll Watson Rankin.  The tour will visit the cottage and neighborhood where the author grew up in Marquette.  They'll focus on the history of the building and the area that influenced the book.

"The Dandelion Cottage walk is a great way to learn some great local history about Marquette while focusing in on a local celebrity from the 1900s, so you really learn a lot about the history of the city through the eyes of the author," said Museum Educator Betsy Rutz.

Dandelion Cottage Month is a partnership between the Marquette Regional History Center and the Peter White Public Library.  A number of events are planned through the month of June.  For a complete list of those events, click here.
