Winning a $10,000 scholarship

MARQUETTE -- One Marquette resident received good news last weekend...that he won $10,000 to help pay for college.

Jacob Wolf received the good news from State Senator Gretchen Whitmer.  Earlier this year, Wolf entered into the Michigan 2020 scholarship contest.

He spent weeks filming and editing his video and several friends helped perform as on-screen talent.  The winner was decided based on the number of votes for the best video that highlights Michigan 2020, a program that plans to help pay college costs for Michigan students.

"It feels great knowing that I pretty much have my first year of school paid for, and it feels great to know that my community stood behind me the whole way," said Wolf.

He plans to study psychology at the University of Michigan, and if you would like to see his entire video you can find it here.
