GWINN -- The archery program at Gwinn High School is expanding and becoming more popular.

Saturday, the school held a training course for seven more volunteer instructors.  They learned proper setup, whistle commands, the process of shooting and aiming the bow, and, above all, safety.

It's all a part of the National Archery in Schools program.  The program held its first two week course last March for more than 100 students.

"It's a lot of fun teaching these kids.  They're a little bashful once they start.  Once they get into it and they start keeping scores and stuff like that, they get a little competitive," said Instructor John Filizetti.

With the seven new instructors, Gwinn High School will have 12 volunteer instructors for the program.
